This is what you do:
Send an e-mail to coyresign@gmail.com.
Your mail can be as short or as long as you want. Try not to be rude.
I will gather all emails, print them off and hand them over to Mr. Privette himself at the next County Commissioner meeting.
Then join me on September 17th at 6 pm outside the County governmental building (you can find directions to that right here), to show Mr. Privette and the media that there is a big group of people from Cabarrus County who no longer want Coy as a County Commissioner.
The protest will last less than half an hour, so it shouldn't take too much time out of your busy day. At 6.30 pm the County Commissioner meeting will start and I plan on handing Mr. Privette all the reactions I have received during the public speaking opportunity at the beginning of the meeting.
Thank you!

Saw your name featured in todays I.T. Seems the topic has many supporters. Greate exposure for your little corner of the web. And to think, I've hated the name Thierry since he left Arsenal this summer! Guess I've got a new reason to reinsert it into my vocabulary now!
ah yes, the formidable Thierry Henry.
Can you vote in NC? Are you a American citizen?
I'm halfway through my citizenship application, So I'll be able to vote in the next election. But right now I can't yet. Why? You seem to have a problem with that?
He/She's probably just mad because they can vote but don't and you can't yet vote but know twice as much about the political system as they do...
This might be a bit off the present topic, but still related. isn't Privette required to register with the authorities as a Sex Offender. It seems to me his arrest and guilty plea has eveything to do with a person haunting the streets in search of some kind of sexual action. Im not sure just what he was doing with the prostitute he hired but as long as it was sexual in nature would he not be required to be on this state lists so everyone would know they are living near this type of person?
NO, Privette is not required to register as a "sex offender". That only applies to much more serious sexual crimes like offenses against minors or sexually violent offenses (rape etc.).
His cohorts on the board asking him to resign - fine. Demanding he resign - fine. You gathering a petition - fine. Me thinking he should resign - fine.
But, for the other four commisioners to pay the county attorney to look for ways to circumvent NC law - criminal.
Privette violated the law, but you have stated on this blog (as well as every other news outlet) that NC law has no provision for removing him based on a misdemeanor. These four are trying to circumvent if not violate the law as well.
Who believes that they are really that upset about what he did as they are just looking for an opportunity to replace him. If they really want him gone - offer a compromise, if he steps down he can pick the person to finish his term.
I have a problem with a non-citizen trying to tell USA citizens how to run our country/county. Are you trying to change the political agenda of whatever country you are a citizen?
By the way, I commend Coy for not resigning. He is the only commisioner who tells the citizens what the C of C and David Murdock are trying to do with our tax dollars.
I have a problem with somebody leaving anonymous comments, but you don't hear me complain about it.
I have been a legal resident alien since 2000, I will be a citizen by the next election (I have applied for citizenship and am halfway through the process), I pay taxes just like everyone else and plan on living in the USA the rest of my life. I have every right to express my opinion just like you do, even if you don't like what i say. Isn't that what's great about this country?
As far as Coy is concerned, I chose to spend $650 on my citizenship application just so i can vote, I think I spend my money more wisely than Mr. Privette does.
The owner of this blog and I couldn't humanly be further apart politically - but he says he is here legally - END OF DISCUSSION!
He has a right to voice his opinion and you have a right to not read his comments!
Is the owner of this blog a citizen of France?
No, Mr. Anonymous I'm not a citizen of France. Why? Gonna buy me some "freedom fries"?
Now Thiery, you and I may disagree on things but WOW, this guy is a moron, "Yous aint no "amrcn" so yous shouldnt be a tellin us how we'z wrong and stuff.
Wow, Thierry. Apparently your views threatened the ignorant non-voting crowd. That means you must be doing something right! Thanks for taking the time to stay informed and sharing your views. What a great country we live in that we can disagree and shake hands. I wish more American born citizens cared as much as you. Their loss.
Coy Privette has betrayed the trust of the voters of Cabarrus County. It would be interesting to see what his response would have been if these offenses had been comitted by another board member.
Mr Left, you were the one who put your name and actions in the public arena. Therefore, I think the people who read this blog deserve to know what qualifications you have to comment on the political process in the county and the country.
The question of my name is not important, I have not gone before the press to condemn anyone or their actions. Nor, have I gone to the county commission to object to passing a resolution making English the official language of Cabarrus County.
On the question of voting, you are not registered to vote in the US, so why do you have a political blog? Did you vote in the recent Belgium elections? I understand all Belgium citizens are compelled to vote.
Shame on you, calling people names and attacking them, but that is a liberal trait. Don't address the issue, use a personal attack. What did you call Monica?
You seem to be obsessed with one person and his actions. If you want to use your blog to give a progressive point of view on life in a conservative bible belt County, why don't you discuss some of the important issues facing the county and country. I would like to know what type of government do you think the US should have? Do you support the representative democracy we now have or would you like that to change? What would you change it to? How would you change the way our President and Vice President are elected? How should individual wealth be managed? What should the policy of the USA be in regard to the UN? What do you think about NATO's involvement in countries internal affairs? What is governments role in health care? What should be done with/about nuclear weapons? What should Cabarrus County role be in developing the research facility in K-Town? Should businesses be given county or state tax incentives? Why? Why are a small group of people being allowed to stop the new jail and cost the taxpayers a lot of money? How should (or should) Cabarrus county growth be controlled?
These are real political issues, why not discuss them instead of calling people names and working yourself up about an old man who made a mistake. By the way, I see where prostitution could soon be legalized in Belgium. Where is your outrage over the illegal Chinese election campaign money?
Think about it.
"I think the people who read this blog deserve to know what qualifications you have to comment on the political process in the county and the country."
Mr. "G O", this is one of the craziest statements I have read in a long time. Since when do you need "qualifications" to talk about politics? Last time I checked this was a free country? What qualifications do YOU have?
I'm a legal resident, will soon be a citizen (you don't seem to get that) like you hopefully are and I pay all my taxes just like you hopefully do.
I'm guessing you want all people that reside LEGALLY in this country, but aren't citizens yet, to shut up?
Unless you're a native American your forefathers were immigrants in this country at one point to.
Did they never talk about politics?
I follow politics closely and am very interested in it, like you hopefully are. If you don't like that, too bad.
Your (and soon Mine) Country prides itself on total freedom of speech. If you don't like that I suggest you might live in the wrong country yourself.
"The question of my name is not important, I have not gone before the press to condemn anyone or their actions"
So you don't think this blog is a public forum? I'm sure you wouldn't think i have the right to say anything in public without using my real name, but you don't seem to think thats a problem for yourself.
That Sir is called being a hypocrite, which might explain why you like Mr. Privette so much.
"I understand all Belgium (sic)citizens are compelled to vote."
First of all it's BelgIAN citizens.
I love the fact that you're interested in other countries, but only Belgian citizens that live in Belgium are compelled to vote. Nice try though.
I know what you're trying to do , you want to show that I'm not loyal to his country and this community and use that somehow to explain why all my arguments against the behavior of Coy Privette wouldn't make sense.
I guess you don't realize that my views on Mr. Privette are shared by the vast majority of the people of Cabarrus County no matter what political party they're from. I wonder if you're going to try to discredit all of them to?
"Shame on you, calling people names and attacking them, but that is a liberal trait."
Shame on you for doing the exact same thing here.
"Don't address the issue, use a personal attack."
I have done nothing BUT address the issue. If you can't see that you obviously can't read.
"What did you call Monica?"
She wasn't a crack whore that's for sure.
"If you want to use your blog to give a progressive point of view on life in a conservative bible belt County, why don't you discuss some of the important issues facing the county and country."
Have you read any of the other 42 posts on My blog? Obviously not, or you would have seen that I talk about the widest variety of issues possible. I'm sure I'll eventually get to all the other issues you mentioned. I'm just very interested in the Privette issue right now. Feel free to start your own blog and talk about anything you want.
And finally:
"You seem to be obsessed with one person and his actions."
You seem to be very obsessed with me yourself. I am flattered.
One more thing Mr "my name is not important" G O, did you ever read the following quote from your friend Coy Privette?
“If the writer is ashamed to put his name on the letter, I'm ashamed to read it.”
