There's nothing better than letting the sea breeze blow all your worries and stress away for a week on Topsail Island.
But as you can see, even at the beach it's hard to escape politics :-)
Anyway, it's good to be back and for the next month I'll be giving it My all to win this Democratic Primary.
If you want to help, drop by the next meeting of Cabarrus for Obama this Wednesday!
Check out this link for all the details.

Please share your thoughts on Senator Obama's most recent verbal blunder, because those gun loving, religious nuts, and bitter middle class workers aren't too far from Cabarrus county.
I don't see any blunder at all, and it's very funny for me to see candidates who have a much bigger personal wealth and have not been raised in a single-parent family call Obama "elitist".
A very good segment on CNN explains how I feel:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4G8dRMofHNs
Now if a candidate might say that Americans don't care if we're in Iraq another 100 years, THAT would be a gaffe. But I'm sure none of the candidates would be stupid enough to say that ;-)
Also, David, if you're not "bitter" after 8 years of Bush regime, I want to have some of your medication.
Oh yes, Obama isn't elitist at all.
What med's are you on? He's worth millions! How is he any different from the Hillaries, Al Gores or John Kerry's of the world?
Seriously dude, if given a valid reason I'd vote for the guy inspite of some of the dumber ideas he has just to piss off the McCain crowd but this hyperbole about "hope and change" isn't enough to sway anyone with a functioning brain stem.
And still waiting on how we're gonna pay for this extra 1.4 Trillion dollars he's gonna spend in his first four years...
Haven't heard an actual response other that "tax rich folks" But 65k per year isn't rich, it's damn near middle class and that's who the Bush Tax cut sunset will affect most...
So much for the rich folks huh? I hope my dad likes Alpo for dinner when he retires next year...
Well Thierry, I'm not bitter. I don't agree with all the decisions that were made, but resolve goes a long way. Tenacity speaks for itself, and is honorable.
Next, I really like Obama's charisma, but it's empty. What are behind all the statements referring to change? What policies will he implement? All that I've gathered from the fodder is that Washington politics are lame. What's new?
No it's not empty at all.
With one click you can find out Obama's program.
Saying his rhetoric is empty is a lie, all you have to do is read a lot and do a little research. You can start right here.
Nothing personal, but i get really sick and tired of people telling me it's "all empty words", do a little research and stop whining.
Don't ask me what policies he will implement, just read it for yourself.
It reminds of people always asking other people to fix their computer, when usually all you have to do it RTFM (Read The F***ing Manual).
I'd get really tired of having to explain things to people too considering the fact that he never ever ever ever explains anything himself.
But I guess when you're an unabashed Marxist you don't want the average "religion loving, gun toting" American to get wind of the fact that you think that the Soviet Union was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
And lest we forget that all this "change and hope" non sense is just a cover for a total lack of experience in any national position and any common sense understanding of the way the economy, domestic or foreign policy actually works...
I don't know where my other comment is now but thanks for being a typical liberal and holding back anything that doesn't jibe with what you want to hear. And to think, you guys claim to be the protectors of free speech...
That being said, I return to my original statement concerning the average democrat voter: They are useful idiots...
I blame the NEA...
He explains his plans all the time, at almost every event I've seen him he talks in depth about his program. The fact that you're not listening is not my problem. Do you want me to come read them to you if you're too lazy to read them yourself?
I'm sure you've heard a lot of explanations from McCain lately?
And all this Marxist/communist bullshit is exactly that, A big load of BS.
It's an easy way of insulting someone you don't know how to deal with. It's just as easy as me calling you a fascist or a gun toting crazy militia dude.
People would be a lot more eager to answer your questions if you stop constantly insulting them.
It's obvious you're one of those very bitter people. I don't blame the NEA, I blame your parents.
Less than one year from now Obama will be our president, hopefully by then you won't be living in a log cabin in the mountains somewhere, sending stuff in the mail to everyone.
See how easy it is to insult people? You forget that it doesn't accomplish anything.
Please only come back when you stop throwing insults around.
Cry me a river Thierry, pleasy cry me a river.
Your messiah is touting exactly the same things his opponents are touting. The only thing anyone's ever asked is what makes his brand better than theirs. You nor anyone else has been able to give a straight answer.
As for Marxism: Perhaps you should re-read the Communist Manifesto or just a basic 9th grade history book to see exactly what the communist government did and then compare it to what Jesus-Incarnate is out there touting. Just because a large portion of America (both Democrat and Republican) are stupid enough to believe that we can have heaven on earth for free doesn't mean that everyone is that ignorant of basic mathmatics.
Obama is a politician: Anyone with a brain has a certain amount of cynisism when listening to a politician. We are now supposed to suspend all such questioning and concerns because you say so or because he's your guy???
Seriously man, if people did that throught Bush's terms we'd all be stripping naked to board an airplane.
The explanations your boy gives aren't worth the time to give them. All I've asked you from the very very beginning is how we pay for 140 trillion dollars of additional programs over his first 4 years in office???
I've already given you the facts that only 400 Billion dollars will be saved if we end the war in Iraq. I've already given you the 300 billion dollar shortfall that will remain if we end the War in Iraq AND sunset the Bush Tax Cuts...
It's a simple question: Where does the additional 300 Billion come from if not from "rich folks" and no more war????
Just answer the question: Or, I'll do it for you: It comes from Middle Class folks like me and everyone else. It comes from the regular Joe who pays taxes but doesn't use any of these nifty services. I fall neatly into that category so it's easy for me to be concerned.
I don't know what category you fall into but it's obviously not one that requires this kind of honest and accurate searching and reporting.
That being said, don't take it as an insult, you're either not capable of answering that honest question or you're avoiding it to keep from letting the truth be known... Whatever it is, it's time your sheep get the picture...
My final answer..and I've answered you several times by now but you refuse to read it, go here and you'll find a lot of answers to your "fiscal" questions.
Seriously dude, if you have questions about a candidate's platform, did it ever occur to you to visit that candidates website?
You never answered my question about where you get your crazy numbers, like that insane 140 trillion dollars you just spewed out. If you tell me "the John Locke Foundation" our discussion is over because then I might as well watch Fox News for "fair & balanced" reporting.
Have a good day, I'm out spending the rest of my day a lot more useful, by talking to Democratic primary voters. There's a lot more of them in Cabarrus County these days.
Insert the Decimal Point I neglected between 1 and 4.
1.4 trillion dollars.
Still, do the math... 1.4 trillion and he says we spend too much money... WOW.
And while your talking to voters who will already vote for him, I'm working on increasing our productivity here at work to pay for all his nifty redistributionist plans...
Funny how that works out huh? Me working, you bloviating...
I'm not just talking to voters who already vote for him. It's called a primary, there's another choice.
If everyone already voted for him I wouldn't have to do anything.
And while you're working for a wage, I'm working a full time job these days for free, not getting paid a dime.
It's called idealism, you should look it up.
It's a done deal Thierry, you've won. Hillary is done for and everyone knows it. She's losing supporters left and right and if Obama could keep his and his preachers foot out of his mouth he'd be a definite lock.
As for me working for a wage: Yep you got me, my idealism doesn't pay the mortgage and I haven't figured out how to be a stay at home dad/political pundit.
I only hope your not working for ACORN while you're registering folks to vote. Those usually get thrown out before election day...
And as for Idealism: I'm a libertarian, how much more idealistic can you be??? Honestly.
The only difference is that I'll debate my ideals flat out without the need for adjectives like "Hope or Change" and on their merits alone and not with fawning praise usually associated with religious zelots and 13 year old girls over their boy band idols
"It's a done deal Thierry, you've won. Hillary is done for and everyone knows it."
Could you go tell her that?
"The only difference is that I'll debate my ideals flat out without the need for adjectives like "Hope or Change"..."
Yes, hope and change are such bad words. We don't want change, we want exactly the same we've always been getting. And hope, gees...why be inspired by a candidate and not pick the lesser of 2 evils as usual?
Yet again Thierry, If Obama doesn't win the nod then the better democrat won. Case in Point: Obama gave 25 times more to Charity last year than Clinton. And interestingly enough, most of that appears to be "actual" charities instead of the "Clinton Foundation for research into fat chicks" or whatever the hell they call it. At least Obama has put his money where his mouth is...
You should feel real confident because Obama is the lesser of two evils from a personal standpoint (anti white pastor not withstanding) and certainly lacks the Clinton sleaze factor.
Add to that the fact that his Millions are all "new money" and it's easy to see why he's more inviting than the "Hillonator."
As I've been saying for months, my only problem with Obama are his policies and more recently, the fact that he's garnered the attention of the "rock the vote" crowd and their sheer lack of deductive logic is a good thing for an Obama supporter but bad for the World in that no one asks what a PAC is or whether Lobbyists have Lawyers to funnel their campaign contributions through.
I'd say that given your long standing support you're probably not one of the fainting groupie's but rather one with serious convictions. More to the point, most of McCains policies are close to in line with most of Obama's that being said, your issue with the Republicrat candidate is one of Iraq or the "(R)" next to his name.
Fret not my friend: You'll not hear me tout the McCain drivel any more than you'll hear me jump the Obama bandwagon.
From where I'm standing, unless there's a massive asteroid lurking in outer space to slam into the US the second Monday in November, The American dream will be dead a day later regardless of who gets sworn in in January!
