Oberweis was an awful candidate. The guy has run for Senate twice and Governor once and lost all three times. There was a solid conservative in the running for this seat, Chris Lauzen, but Hastert got behind Oberweis, only God knows why, and so the GOP lost the seat. Lauzen would have held it without any problems. The Republicans get what they deserve.

If we end the war we will still have 500 billion dollars to make up for.

Simple addition of the neato things Obama wants to do is about 249 Billion.

That's 749 Billion dollars that will still have to come from somewhere. EACH YEAR.

Judging by the most recent post on my blog there's still a lot of Ron Paul flamers religiously checking the google for his name and "defending his honor."

I'm still kinda hazy how you can make such bold statements considering the truth in "me"'s post.

We can't afford the entitlements we have. Haven't been able to do so for years. It will only get worse, not better as my fathers generations heads to the pension and social security office.

We've seen what the Carter Administrations answer was and it created stagflation that crippled the entire economy.

Since I've long since stopped paying attention to anything anyone says in the campaigns: Other than a huge across the board tax increase that will further constrict the economy as inflation continues, what is your messiah's answer to everything.

Please spare me the "we'll save when we end the war" diatribe. It's already been conclusively proven that even if we pull everyone out (Which Obamessiah has already backtracked on) we'll still have close to 500 billion dollars per year in budget shortfalls that have to come from somewhere and he's proposed almost 249 billion more in new nifty things that make him more of my daddy than my actual, biological father.

So where does this 749+ billion dollars per year come from??

This isn't so much of a success by the Democrats, as a failure for the US. Our economy is failing and we're about to slide deeper into a recession (dare I say a depression) and yet somehow the people think we need more of a nanny state? We need to move closer to socialism? huh? We can't afford the entitlements we already have on our backs.

The GOP chose the wrong candidate to force on the Republican voters. They had an anti-war candidate who understands economics and they turned their backs on him. The Democrats will win and the US will lose.
